How Much Does Armadillo Removal Cost?

Pricing and costs of armadillo removal and control in 2020

Most armadillo jobs involve trapping and removing the animals with ground-based live cage traps, which is simpler than a job involving critters inside a building. This process takes a few service visits, plus relocation trips, if necessary, or euthanizing fees.

Example Smaller Job: Two service visits, one to set traps, and another trip to remove armadillo(s) and relocate them elsewhere. Price maybe $150 on up
Example Bigger Job: Trap and remove armadillos, plus installation of steel mesh around a deck to prevent armadillo entry. Price maybe $400 on up

Please keep in mind that these example prices are by no means fixed. Prices can vary considerably by town, based on several different factors. We service over 500 locations in the USA. Select your state below, and then your city or town, and you will get more specific pricing information.

Are armadillos dangerous to cats, dogs, or other pets?

Costs do vary by company. But there are 3 main principles:
1) Armadillo control is highly specialized work, with unique licensing and liability risks.
2) You usually do get what you pay for, and cheap companies tend to do bad work.
3) There is no one-price-fits-all. It doesn't work that way, every armadillo job is different.

Any reputable nuisance wildlife company will have spent money on licensing, liability insurance, and a host of other business expenses. You don't want to over-pay of course. And most of all, you want someone who will do this complex work correctly. If you do it wrong the first time, you'll just end up paying more later. You can't ignore wildlife problems, because of the damage and health risks that armadillos cause. Invest in your home and property by taking care of the armadillo problem correctly.

If you need to prevent armadillos from going under a deck or shed, you may want a wildlife professional to install a steel exclusion barrier around the perimeter of the structure, and costs will vary depending on the size of the project.

Customer Email Regarding Armadillo Problem: I am getting underground holes near the house and on the bottom edge of the fence. I suspect they are either raccoons or opossums, but I'm also wondering if it could be a different animal, and because they are dropping near the pool --which is not covered – they are becoming a nuisance. I asked my neighbors and they tell me that they are having the same problem. What can we do to get rid of these creatures? We are afraid that these animals can attack one when one steps out at night – and they could be rabid! Is there an agency in Orange County Florida that can help remove them? The pest control store tells me that I cannot trap them as I am not licensed to remove and dispose of a wildlife. What are the costs of animal removal, if any? Any suggestions are welcomed! Udeth

My Response: Sounds like you are dealing with armadillos. The pooping in the pool sounds more like raccoon though. There is definitely no free agency in Orange County that can take care of the problem. You need to hire a private trapping company.
