Arkansas is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Pocahontas wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Pocahontas animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

Pocahontas Wildlife Tip:
How to stop squirrels damaging trees
Squirrels are amazing animals, in that they can get around through trees, climb onto rooftops, and scale across telephone wires better than any trapeze artist could even imagine. These are truly amazing animals in terms of their balance and gripping ability, which has enabled them to live above the ground to avoid potential predators that would seek to cause them harm.

While it may be cute to see squirrels running around through the trees of your home, the truth is that these animals can do serious damage to your trees. While moving up and down in them may be all you see them do, the fact remains that squirrels will chew on tree branches and limbs, which can cause damage to the foundation and integrity of the tree. This can eventually lead to the tree becoming sick and weak, where branches fall onto your home potentially causing damage.

You understand that it is quite unlikely that you can keep squirrels out of trees, but you may wonder if there are things you can do to keep them from biting on the trees themselves. So how do you stop squirrels from damaging trees?

The two primary ways that a squirrel can damage a tree is by chewing on it or scratching it. A tree offers a squirrel two primary survival ingredients that it needs: food and help strengthening its teeth. Squirrels chew on hard objects, like wood, because it helps to strengthen their teeth. This is where your tree offers them the perfect opportunity.

The other reason that they will chew on a tree is for food. Squirrels will eat bark at times, and they will also chew on branches or limbs to try to get them to fall if those branches or lambs have food on them that the squirrel is unable to reach. Once the branches knocked down, they can easily get at the food. So how do you stop this?

The first thing to do is to try the use of predator urine. This may not be the most appealing technique, but if you are too poor the urine of cats, foxes, wolves, or other animals that would pose a potential risk to the squirrel, they will avoid those trees altogether. They don't know whether a predator is there or not, and are simply not going to take the risk.

Another good thing to do is to keep trees and bushes trimmed properly. The less branches that there are, the less likely that squirrels are going to build their nests in them. This doesn't mean that you need to chop down whole branches, but you can reduce the number of squirrels getting around in your trees by keeping them prone, especially at the lower levels.

You also can use owl or Hawk statues in the trees. Squirrels still see the statues as potential predators, and will avoid them. If you move them around in the trees on a regular basis it will create an even greater illusion to keep these rodents away.
