California is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Bakersfield wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Bakersfield animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.
DOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local
Kern County Animal Control
for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses,
pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Kern County animal control, and see what they have to
say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that
helps with dog and cat issues only.

Bakersfield Wildlife Tip:
Will skunk move young to safer location - Skunks will move their litters, but it takes a lot to get the mother to do this. There are very few things that can push a mother skunk out of her den and to a new location. In fact, there are no reliable methods to go about this, and no repellents on the market can achieve the desired results. When it comes to a mother skunk and her babies on your property, you should wait until the babies are old enough to leave the den or you should have a professional come and trap the entire family together. You can try to handle the situation on your own, but be advised there is only about an 8-day grace period from the time the mother gives birth to the time the babies' skunk glands are able to be sprayed. If you can't trap the mother and remove the babies during that time frame, it's best to just let nature take its course for a few months. Skunks might drive you crazy with their smell and the damage they do to a yard, but they don't do too much damage to a house.

Icky earwig infestation in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD - It's an infestation of the insect-kind; thousands of earwigs have invaded Kern County this year. They are also called pincher bugs because of the pair of graspers they have on their tails. Whatever you call them, they are bugging a lot of local folks out. They're creepy, but Curly Neal has found a way to deal with them. "I just step on them and crunch them," Neal said. "They say they bite, but I've never been bitten or pinched by one," Neal said.
Although they are not a major threat, they have become a nuisance. They are known as earwigs or pincher bugs but most people call them plain gross. Entomologist David Hasahand said, "Pincher bug is just an old European myth that they can bore into your ear and get into your brain that way, and that's just completely unfounded." And although, it's reassuring that they don't bore into your brain, but what about those formidable forceps.
"Yeah, he just can't get it. Yeah. If I put my little pinky in there he can't quite grab," Hasahand said. While Hasahand reassures people that they don't pinch, few people are willing to put it to the test. Anthony Mews with DWI Pest Control says the pest control business is booming. "Since it rained last week, the rain actually drove them out. We're getting 10 to 20 calls per day" Mews said. This sudden bloom of bugs is due to perfect environmental conditions. Recent rain and cool temperatures means earwigs are just about everywhere in Kern County, and some have even invaded homes. Bakersfield pest control is an important part of the local economy, but only a few California companies deal with wild animals.
But there are some ways you can get rid of them. Get a can of tuna remove all of the tuna, leaving behind the fish. Then set the can down in a leafy area where the earwigs are likely to hangout. They'll go in there for a meal, but they'll never check out. They're going to be going away soon. The males will pretty much die soon. And the females will hibernate during the winter. Most local owners of pest control companies in Bakersfield, California weren't sure what to make of all this.
