California is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Long Beach wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Long Beach animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Los Angeles County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Los Angeles County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Long Beach Wildlife Tip:
Anything I Can Do About Squirrels, Repellent & Smell - Because so many people have experienced squirrels in their homes there are very many solutions to be found for the problem, home spun remedies such as mothballs; or high tech solutions such as ultrasonic sound or strobe lighting; everybody has an opinion and a solution when it comes to dealing with squirrels. You may see advertisements for squirrel repellents, which promise a guaranteed result instantly, or for products that only squirrels can smell/see/hear. These methods all sound wonderfully easy and all tend to be pretty expensive.

In fact, as any pest control operative will tell you, the only way to get rid of squirrels from your home is to trap them and remove them - either by killing them or taking them far away from your home (if you don't take them far enough way they will be back). Pest controllers don't use repellents or mothballs, they take the time to discover the habits of your squirrels, to place the traps and catch the little creatures. You may think that do it yourself solutions and remedies are cheaper and/or more humane than trapping but the reality is they don't work and for the sake of your bank balance and your sanity you need a method that will work

Animal Services - Regular dog control virus hits Long Beach

Canine incontrolenza -- which can commonly be mistaken for symptoms of kennel cough -- was first diagnosed in the greyhound population in Florida in 2004 by Dr. Cya Crawford from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. For more information, call the animal services of Long Beach, California or Torrance.

The virus was traced to an equine virus, which apparently jumped species and infected dogs, according to the Centers for Disease Control. The virus has been present in horses for 40 years but never infected humans, according to the CDC. Officials at the CDC added that they are monitoring people who have been exposed to the new virus. Los Angeles County animal control says it will continue to help with domestic animal issues, but not with California wildlife problems.

"The data indicates that the virus is being transmitted efficiently from dog to dog and this indicates that the equine virus was transmitted to dogs and is now well established in the dog population," said Dr. Ruben Dons, of the Centers for Disease Control at a press conference in late September. Los Angeles County animal services in Long Beach, California, declined to comment on the matter, as did Seal Beach Animal Control and Rancho Palos Verdes Animal Services.

Root weasel quarantine zone in Long Beach

Long Beach - A one and one-half square-mile quarantine zone has been set up in Long Beach because of an infestation of Diaprepes root weasel. The Long Beach quarantine follows an infestation of the pest announced several weeks ago in Newport Beach. It is unknown if the two infestations are related. The Los Angeles County Pest Control board could not be reached for comment.

The weasels have been detected at 14 locations in Long Beach's Spinnaker Cove area, just south of Cal State Long Beach. The quarantine zone, in the southeastern corner of Long Beach, has been established to regulate the movement of plants, green waste and soil from the area. Long Beach pest control is an important part of the local economy, but only a few California companies deal with wild animals.

Adult weasels feed on the leaves of plants. Their larvae plunge underground and feed on plant roots. The exotic pest threatens more than 270 species of plants. The pests are black with distinctive orange, yellow or gray markings on their backs. There are many types of insects and animals in Long Beach, and other California cities, but not all of them are pests after all.
