Connecticut is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Avon wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Avon animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Hartford County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Hartford County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Avon Wildlife Tip:
How rats communicate using pheromones

Rats release chemical signals to communicate among themselves. Pheromones are released via certain behaviors to convey specific information. Earlier on it was thought that pheromones are only used to communicate sexual information. Pheromones may also be used to relay information about;

- Looming danger
- Dominance over other rats
- Food availability
- Affection
- Shelter availability and more

Rodents possess two main pheromone tissues known as epithelium tissues and vomeranosal organs (VNO). These are the crucial tissues used to communicate. There are various types of pheromones through which rats can convey different information.

Communication through the Releaser Pheromone

The more aggressive rats use the releaser pheromones to let other rats know that they are in occupied territory. They tend to urinate when other rats approach their territory. Female rats release this pheromone to let their young ones know they are ready to be fed.

Communication through the Primer Pheromone

The primer pheromone is mainly used when rats are at their peak of fertility. It is used to convey information regarding sexual readiness of the female species. The females release these pheromones to arouse male species and initiate sexual activities. The males react to the primer pheromones by triggering a part of the brain called the vomeronasal organ.

Communication through Information Pheromone

The information pheromone is used to relay general information regarding a rat. A rat will smell another rat and catch some information about the rat using this pheromone. The information conveyed may be about the rat's health status or their last meal.

Communication through Signaler Pheromone

A rat may signal another rat to do something through the signaler pheromone. The signaler pheromone can be responsible for causing a sudden collective response by a group of rats. A rat may release this pheromone to tell other rats about shelter or looming danger.
