Florida is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Destin wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Destin animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Okaloosa County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Okaloosa County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Destin Wildlife Tip:
How to protect yourself from a spraying skunk

It will awfully just merely think that the skunk will be sprayed by the musk of the skunk. It is so powerful and it will take you more than 6 months to get rid of the smell. The odor is composed of a sulphuric compound that has been perfected by the skunks as a defense mechanism that deters even the angriest attackers. February is the primary mating season for the skunk, so that you can say that love is in the air for these creatures, however, humans as well as pets are always prone to this. But what will you do to get rid of the awful odor, good thing there is a solution that is readily available.

What will you do if anyone in the family or any of your pets get sprayed by the skunk? Well, you can just mix hydrogen peroxide and one fourth cup of baking soda and a tsp. of a soap dish, place it in a bowl and then use it to wash your body or the dog. Rinse thoroughly and then take a bath as usual. But for the dog, you can apply a washrag and then bathe the dog as usual, it will smell nice once again. The only challenge is that when the skunks sprayed the musk straight to the mouth of the dog, that will mean having a bad breath for weeks and there is no solution for this.

How will you be able to prevent the skunk from spraying you? Humans are very much worried about being sprayed by the skunk with their awful smelling musk, it is just that it rarely happens, especially if they will not be threatened. They have good manners, which is not so believable, they have not sprayed just like that. When something scared them or someone approaches them and they got scared or surprised, they will give a warning before the musk. They will stamp their front feet and then they will wiggle their tail. People may hide given these warning signs, but the dogs will not hide, because they do not know what the wagging of the tail means, so they are often sprayed. This is the reason why dogs are always a victim of skunk, but people do not.

If you will check on the perspective of the skunk, it has a good sense of smell, but the eyes if not working properly. When the dog comes next to them, it looks like a big predator, it will scare the skunk fast and then they will blow the musk. There is no wonder when they spray, this is just to secure themselves, it is their primary line of defense, since their eyesight is not so good. If you have encountered a skunk while you are out walking or just by standing in the garden, then the skunks will not see what is not moving, you can slowly walk away from them.
