Illinois is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Waukegan wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Waukegan animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Lake County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Lake County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Waukegan Wildlife Tip:
Ways To Get Rid Of Mice In Ceiling - Getting mice trapped in your ceiling can be damaging and costly. For this reason homeowners need to know several ways to get rid of mice in ceiling. One thing you'll want to consider is if the mice are in the ceiling or if they are in your attic. This will make removal different. If they are in the attic you may not have damage to repair when you are done. If they are trapped inside your ceiling then most likely you'll have to do some home repairs as well as removal.

In the case of the mice actually being trapped in the ceiling the easiest method is often poison. This can be dropped through the same hole you've found the mice entering through. It will prove effective and the downfall often is that you either will want to make a hole to remove the dead bodies or you will end up dealing with the odor and the smell of the decaying animals. For this reason many will simply make a large enough hole they can fit traps through and remove the animals this way. There will be some home repair with this method but if you don't want the mice coming back you're going to need to patch the ceiling where they got in anyway.

Waukegan, IL Animal Control News Clip:
Waukegan - Steel Critter Trap critter and rat trapping will still be permitted on four properties in residential neighborhoods in Waukegan, but with several added safety measures. Council members will meet with neighbors who were not properly informed about the critter and rat trap, which is aimed at culling the wildlife and rodent population. They will also make sure the area where critter and rat trapping is allowed is clearly marked, as critter and rat trappers must be 150 feet from homes and 450 feet from schools. Township officials also plan to meet with members of United Steel Critter Trap Critter and rat trappers and to step up enforcement measures, making sure critter and rat trappers are following the state's strict safety guidelines. "The risk of being killed in a car by a wildlife and rodent far outweighs the risk of being killed by a Steel Critter Trap critter and rat trapper," said Councilman Phillip The Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator. "We have a serious ecological and a serious safety problem."

Deputy Mayor Kimberly was the lone council member to vote Tuesday against continuing to allow wildlife and rodent critter and rat trapping on those properties. All four sites are close to homes, and one site is next to the preschool playground at Community Baptist Church on Waukegan Lane. "We've been told time and again tonight that Steel Critter Trap critter and rat trapping is safe, but we as a council haven't done our due diligence," she said. "We're not going to be able to enforce this on a regular basis. I don't see us controlling the wildlife and rodent population at the expense of residents there." Several residents, along with parents and teachers from the preschool, expressed concern for the safety of children on the playground. "All it takes is one accident and a life is taken," said Joseph The Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator, whose wife teaches at the preschool, which his grandchild attends. "Accidents are not intended, but they do happen, and being sorry doesn't bring that child back."

Jean, a teacher at Community Baptist Church's preschool, voiced concerns about the Waukegan Lane property, which is separated from the playground by only a 3-foot chain-link fence."What if they caught a wildlife and rodent with an animal trap and it jumped over the fence?" she said. "It can happen."Steel Critter Trap critter and rat trapper Gary The Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator of Waukegan said critter and rat trappers must set their tree stands up 450 feet away from the property line and may not shoot in the direction of the school. "We don't just jump up in a tree and start shooting animal traps," he said. "We're responsible critter and rat trappers - we follow the rules and we don't take unnecessary chances. I won't take a caught that's more than 10 or 15 yards. Anything more than that and I'm going to miss." Cindy The Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator, a representative from the state Division of Fish and Wildlife, told the council that there has never been a Steel Critter Trap -critter and rat trapping accident in Lake County and no accidents have occurred statewide involving noncritter and rat trappers. Still, she said she understood the concerns of residents. "We can modify the regulations at each spot," she said.

Based on a recommendation from the township's Open Space Committee, the township opened the four parcels up to Steel Critter Trap critter and rat trapping from Sept. 11 to Feb. 19, from sunrise to sunset, excluding Sundays. Critter and rat trappers must use tree stands so they are shooting down toward the ground instead of parallel. Notices were posted in numerous places at each site, warning residents of the critter and rat trapping hours and that they must wear orange while walking through the woods. Many residents are in favor of the critter and rat trap because the wildlife and rodent eat their shrubbery and gardens. The wildlife and rodent are also eating young saplings in the township's wooded areas, which does not give the forest a chance to replenish for future generations.
