Indiana is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Anderson wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Anderson animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Madison County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Madison County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Anderson Wildlife Tip:
What if a snake got inside my house, bedroom, kitchen, etc.

Snakes are rather sneaky critters that don't need much room to be able to find their way into your home. The smallest hole in the side of your home or around a window frame, or even if you leave a door open for a short period of time or have a pet door can be enough to allow a snake to be able to gain access.

While the vast majority of these reptiles are not a risk to you at all, there are some that can be quite dangerous to you, your pets, and your family. Clearly, they are not something that you want in your home.

The problem is that you may have no idea on how to get them out. They can be difficult to find and a great challenge to get out. If you wanting to know what to do if a snake gets into your house, here is what you should do.

First of all, you should play it safe. Unless you are 100 percent sure that this is a non-venomous snake, it pays to treat the reptile as if it is dangerous. This means that you should protect all your exposed skin before you approach the snake, including wearing boots, pants, gloves, a long sleeve shirt, goggles, a surgical mask, and a hat. Make sure that you are protected.

You also want to do all you can to try to isolate the animal. If it is in your bedroom or closet, then close the door so that it cannot get out. The best way to be able to defeat this reptile is to keep it from getting any further into your home. This will also help you to be able to get it out because you will have better control.

Next, get some kind of long stick that you can use to direct the snake and a sturdy bag that you will use to capture the animal with. A potato sack is a great option or, if you have a cage available, then you can use that.

Go into the room and use locate the snake by doing a very cautious search. Once you have found it, set up your bag or cage so it is near where the snake is located. What you want to do is set it near the corner of the room. Make sure that the bag is open so that the snake can get inside.

Now, use your sitck to lead the snake toward your bag or cage. Make slow, deliberate movements so that the reptile cannot get away and is not startled. Direct it until you have got it to get into the cage or bag. Once you have it inside, close the sack or door and then take it outside.

Simply open up your trap and let the animal get out on its own. You don't need to come in contact with it. Just let the animal work itself out of the trap and off on its own.
