Oregon is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Roseburg wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Roseburg animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Douglas County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Douglas County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Roseburg Wildlife Tip:
What About A Trap For Squirrel - If you have unwanted visitors in your attic in the form of squirrels you will most likely want to get rid of them as soon as possible - before they do any more damage to your home. Everybody will have advice and their own favorite method but the only method that really works is trapping. If you are looking for a trap for a squirrel infestation then you may be somewhat overwhelmed by the choice. But in reality they are all more or less the same. Whether you use a live, humane trap or a lethal trap it is important that they are set correctly and also located in the best possible location. So before you set your trap for squirrel visitors you need to do a little detective work - try to find where the squirrel is getting in and out of your home and seal those holes and gaps up!

Hopefully there will be one clear exit/entry way and a clear squirrel run - and this is what will be utilized with the trap. It is important to leave the trap for squirrel visitors open, baited but not set for two or three days before setting the trapping plan - if the squirrel is used to the presence of the trap you will have a better success rate. Be sure to choose a trap with a fine metal mesh so that the squirrel cannot escape once it is caught.

Roseburg, OR Animal Control News Clip:
Tens of thousands of Steel Critter Traps in Roseburg, Oregon: That would mean there are about a quarter-million Steel Critter Trap critter and rat trappers out there. That's farfetched. Another Animal control agency estimate put the number of Animal Trappers at about 180,000. My guess is that it's fewer than 100,000, but it doesn't make any difference. The season isn't exclusive to Steel Critter Trap critter and rat trappers; there are no stamps; and the money raised just drops into a general pot of money called Fund 9. And nothing in Fund 9 is dedicated to anything special regarding Animal Trapper. I say dump the stamp. Get rid of it. Keep the season; lose the stamp.

I know this is not a popular thought among many Steel Critter Trap critter and rat trappers and Animal Trapper organizations. There is a long-standing feeling that the Steel Critter Trap season was created for Animal Trappers because they agreed to buy the stamps. They bought this season, so leave it alone. They see, and vocally defend, this linkage. Ten years ago, when the suggestion was made that youth critter and rat trapping also be allowed on October weekends, members of the Lone Star Steel Critter Trap critter and rat trappers Association lobbied against any incursion into their season. The youths can critter and rat trap wildlife and rodent in November, December and January with everybody else. October is for the Animal Trappers.

Except it's not. Listen. Literally. Listen this weekend. Some of you will hear animal trap setup. Legal animal trap setup. Across Oregon there are about 5,000 property owners who manage their wildlife and rodent populations under state supervision and who have what is called Managed Lands Wildlife and rodent Permits. These permits allow critter and rat trappers to take any kind of wildlife and rodent at any time using animal traps, or Steel Critter Traps, or blow darts, for that matter. There is no charge for these permits. In addition, the state has given away more than 48,000 Super Combo critter and rat trapping and fishing licenses to military personnel living in Oregon. Those critter and rat trappers may be out in October, and they will not have to have paid a surcharge. Again, I say ditch the stamp. If Animal control agency or the Legislature is concerned about a revenue loss, charge managed lands permit holders $2 per wildlife and rodent harvested. Statewide, the annual harvest is about 120,000, so that income would replace the lost stamp revenue. Let Animal control agency prove Animal Trappers are special by NOT charging them extra to critter and rat trap.
