Pennsylvania is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Washington wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Washington animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

Washington Wildlife Tip:
WHAT IS THE BEST BAIT TO TRAP A RODENT? Rodents are those pesky little things that just enjoy being around human's premises. Why shouldnt they, we provide them with all necessities they need; food, water, and cozy shelters. However, the affection and feelings are far from being mutual. As they are usually carriers of some serious diseases and leaving quite havoc behind them, it should be and it, of course, is one of our priorities to get rid of them as soon as possible.

Before setting the traps we need to take some necessary steps. The first one is an inspection of the building and finding the entry points, where rodents are getting into your house. After locating and furthermore sealing all openings with preferably steel plates you need to examine rodents habits and locating their paths of movement. It also helps to determine which type of rodents you are dealing with.

All necessary steps to start with entrapment have been made and the trapping mission can commence. When the trap has been chosen and location, where the traps are going to be placed was determined, we need to choose the right bait for the pest in question. The baits are not always necessary. What is even more important is the type of the trap, where do we put it and how do we set it, these factors make a whole lot of a difference. However, when we use the bait in order to lure animals to come and set off the trap, here are some possibilities, you might try out:

  • pieces of bacon
  • bird seeds
  • peanut butter
  • chocolate
  • pet food
  • marshmallow
  • different sorts of candy
  • raisins or some similar dry fruits
Baits should be properly set, meaning there shouldnt be too much bait on them. Otherwise, pests are just going to lick off the bait with no effect. The bait pieces can also be tied to a trap with a yarn or a dental floss in order to be obtained a little harder and the pest should try to pull it away. As mice are very curious little creatures, they will happily come and investigate anything new. Rats are however a completely different story. They are shyer, smarter and very precocious creatures. Trapping them is a bit trickier.

The last rodent we usually find in our home is a squirrel and the trap used for catching the squirrel is mainly a live trap. We set the trap directly to pests entry/exit point or if that isnt possible in its direct vicinity. As a part of baiting, it is effective to use peanut butter or simply peanuts in a shell. After trapping the little creature, it should be relocated to a carefully chosen environment with food, water, and shelter, at least, 3km away from your home.
