South Carolina is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Pickens wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Pickens animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

Pickens Wildlife Tip:
If I Trap a Squirrel, Where Do I Relocate It?

There are many instances where a person has had enough with the nuisance animal like a squirrel. They have set up a trap, looking to capture the animal so that it will no longer get into their garden, rummage through their garbage cans, or even get into their house. A trap can be an effective way to capture a squirrel so that it no longer poses a problem.

However, capturing the squirrel in a trap is not the end of the problem. Once you have captured this world you must figure out a new place to locate it. Just releasing it means the squirrel will remain in your neighborhood. So, what you may want to know is where do you relocate a squirrel?

Do Some Learning First

Before you make any decision about the squirrel, you need to do some research. There are a number of factors in determining where you will take a squirrel. These include a lot of life factors that will help in the survival of that animal. These include:

  • Is there adequate food in the area for the squirrel?
  • Are there already an abundance of squirrels in the area?
  • Are there a large number of predators?
  • Are there potential mates for the squirrel?
  • Is there adequate shelter or locations to find shelter?
All of these need to be considered if you are going to take the squirrel to any location. Understand that if you don't adequately provide for the daily needs of the squirrel, it is not going to make it. You are simply dropping it into an area where it is doomed to fail. You might as well kill the animal at that point.

Protect Yourself

Once you have chosen a suitable location for the squirrel, your next step is to transport it to that location. To do so, you need to make sure you're taking all precautions to protect yourself. Before you even handle the cage, you should put on clothing that covers all exposed skin. This includes boots, heavy duty gloves, a long sleeve shirt and long sleeve pants. You should also wear a surgical mask and goggles to protect your respiratory system.

Handling the cage, always wear gloves. You should also line the back of your truck with a tarp so that much easier. Try to transport the animal inside your car. This is far too dangerous, as the fluids of these animals was best to you as well. That could easily get into your car and would likely be difficult to clean. You should also cover the cage to make the animal a little more at ease before transporting.

When you arrive at the destination, just open up the cage and let the raccoon his own way out. Don't try to scurry get a lot more help it in any way. You may be bitten or scratched, which could pose a serious health risk to you.

If you do the right kind of research, it will be easy to find a good location for the squirrel. Then it will have a good chance of survival.
