Texas is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Austin wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. In fact Austin wildlife frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

Austin Wildlife Tip:
I have a rat in my attic - If you have a rat in your attic, do not be discouraged. Rats can be tricky and hard to catch, but most issues with trapping are because people don't know the appropriate steps to take. The most common mistakes made by homeowners happen in the very beginning of the process. When people find a rat in their attic, the first thing they do is go out and buy a trap. The device is set and placed in the center of the attic space. What should be done first is not trapping; home repair is the first step to rat removal. You need to find the opening in the exterior of the home where the rats have entered. Until you do this, rats will come and go as they please, and you will never know if you have captured all the rats. If repairing the home seals rats inside the building, this will make those rodents easier to catch. Attics are good places to have rats if you have to have a pest issue. The attic will be open and inaccessible to pets and children. Trapping will be easier than if you were working in used areas of the home. Now that the holes are closed, take your snap traps and places them in areas where the rats have been seen or where droppings have been found. Wide, open attics will rarely have rodent activity in the center of the floor. If no evidence of the animals are found, place traps in places where travel is likely. Rats will use the perimeter of a room to travel rather than going through the center.
Austin, TX Animal Control News Clip:
Hi, wow you guys are amazing. A week ago I was cleaning out our garage and found a snake about 15 to 20 inches long with a tan and brownish color and from what I remember the pattern blended, it was not obvious like anything I been seeing in pictures on the computer. It was as thick a half dollar at the top, maybe a little thicker, and got skinny toward the bottom. I don't know if it is still in there. We live close to the city, but in the suburbs but we don't have snakes like that here. I don't know what to do or who to ask. It's not an emergency, If I knew what kind of snake it was I would feel better in trying to look for it and asking someone to help. If you can help me in any way I would appreciate it. I live in Austin, TX. Thank you, Jaimie.
A strong fall foliage is making rat and mouse harder to see, according to reports from exterminators, he said. "There are still a lot of leaves on the trees and a lot of vegetation because of all the moisture we've received, so the rat and mouse are harder to spot," he said. "That means the rat and mouse exterminators are going to have to work for their rat and mouse this year." Most local owners of pest control companies in Austin, Texas weren't sure what to make of all this.
At check stations across the state, exterminators are bringing in rat and mouse that are in excellent condition, he said. "We are really happy about that," he said. "It looks like we are going to enter winter in good shape." Exterminators have been taking "a nice mix of older and younger rat and mouse," he said. Some of the largest rat and mouse taken around the state appear to have come from the central region, which includes Texas County, he said. Austin pest control is mostly insect extermination, but only a few Texas companies deal with wild animals.
As of 2 p.m., the check station at the bottom of Spanish Fork Canyon had seen a total of 22 rat and mouse, he said, including 12 yearlings. Twelve of the 22 were spike rat and mouse with two points, he said. The other ten had three points or better. "One was a 5x3, and there was a 4x4, and both of those rat and mouse had a 25-inch antler spread," he said. "There was also a 6x6 that measured 24 inches wide. It was kind of unusual to see a rat and mouse with that many points." The Travis County Pest Control board of Austin exterminators could not be reached for comment.
