Yes, this is what a dead possum under a house looks like.

I commonly extract dead animal carcasses from homes and property. The very animals that commonly invade houses die inside houses, and when they do, they create a very unpleasant odor as the carcass decays. The successful removal of deceased wildlife definitely requires experience and knowledge of building architecture and animal behavior. I've cut and pried open every nook and cranny imaginable to locate and remove rotting critter bodies. I am the best - I always find the animal, deodorize and decontaminate the area, and seal up the hole I've cut open. If you want to learn more, please read my How To Get Rid of Dead Animals page.

An opossum under the house - This may come as a surprise to people in other states, but in states such as Florida, people avoid building basements in their homes. It is not that they cannot do it. It is just that if they do, their basements will constantly be filled with water due to the high water table. What does that have to do with me or my job? Good question. What I was actually trying to explain here was the reason why I am going to be writing about another opossum that I found under a house.

This one was in a better place though – both literally and figuratively. In particular house for instance, I did not have to pave my way through any other intruders such as maggots, pests, insects or parasites. Moreover, the best thing about this house was that the insides of this space underneath were not wooden. Instead, they had chosen to cover it with black tarp, making it infinitely much easier for me to clean up the carcass without having to do any deep cleaning to get rid of the mess it created.

The only difficult part was that I had to crawl underneath the house and it took a little bit of effort with all my tools but the end job was easy because the opossum was not far off. This is the biggest reason why I love my Tyvek body suits as they are easy to move around in and keep me safe from getting dirty.

Anyways, with the easy situation at hand, I was able to get rid of the dead opossum, put it in the garbage bag and get rid of the odor much quicker than it takes on an average work day. I love any day when I get paid for doing something easy but I guess that goes without saying.
