I commonly extract dead animal carcasses from homes and property. The very animals that commonly invade houses die inside houses, and when they do, they create a very unpleasant odor as the carcass decays. The successful removal of deceased wildlife definitely requires experience and knowledge of building architecture and animal behavior. I've cut and pried open every nook and cranny imaginable to locate and remove rotting critter bodies. I am the best - I always find the animal, deodorize and decontaminate the area, and seal up the hole I've cut open. If you want to learn more, please read my How To Get Rid of Dead Animals page.

Dead Rat Out Shopping? - This picture was taken more than 7 years ago and tells a fascinating story (at least to me). Till now, all the stories and adventures that I have told you about were limited to people’s homes and that might make you believe that all this while, my work has just taken me from one house to the other. While it is true that most of the dead animal cleaning up I have done has been for homeowners, in this particular case, I was called to detect why there is a rotten smell emitting from within a mall.

Anyone who has followed my posts would know by now that I love my job more than anything else. And so, even though when I got to the mall with all my gear and equipment, I did invite a lot of attention from the shoppers, all I was focused on was where this stench is coming from. As usual I got down to detecting the location and sniffed around the walls of the mall. After narrowing down the area where the smell was the strongest, I could tell instantly that what we are looking for is right inside the hollow walls. For that, I needed to cut the wall open and give a peek inside.

By now, there were a good number of people gathered around me as I cut a hole through the wall, and sure enough I found a dead rat inside. As I pulled the dead guy out of the wall, I could tell that almost everyone around thought I was some crazy guy with a strange obsession for dead rats. But I could care less what anyone thought. I had done my job and felt ecstatic about it. After packing away the carcass in a garbage disposal bag, I thoroughly cleaned the area and fixed the hole I had made in the wall.
