If you have a mole in your yard then you are likely looking for any measures that you can take to eradicate or at least scare off these creatures so that they stay away from your yard. The truth of the matter is that they can be quite difficult to get rid of. Because of their propensity to dig holes and tunnels in your yard you can be sure that they have plenty of escape routes that afford them shelter should you locate one of their openings.

It is because of problems like this that people are looking for different methods to be able to stop a mole from staying in their yard. Traditionally, people have used such things as a trap, which releases a spike like mechanism that kills the mole as it passes through it, but this is not always an option that people prefer. It risks injuring other animals, and it seems kind of over-the-top if you really get down to it. There must be a better way.

Oddly enough, there is a very peculiar way that can help you to rid yourself of your mole problem. Chewing gum is the solution. You may think that is crazy but here is how to get rid of moles in your yard with Juicy fruit gum.

First of all, before scoffing at this suggestion, you should be well aware that this has been scientifically proven to successfully keep moles away from your yard and your garden. In tests that have been conducted, the results have stood for themselves. This should tell you that you can have serious success by using gum.

What you want to do is to cut several sticks of the Juicy Fruit gum into pieces that are about ½ inch each. Next, dig around the whole that the mole is using to gain access into its tunnel system with a spade or shovel so that the very top layer of the soil is removed. It is important that you make the tunnel as undisturbed as possible.

Start to drop a piece or two of the gum into the hole and then cover it back up with dirt. Make sure that you do not pat down the dirt at the entryway so that the tunnel is closed. Just as a reference to you, the gum should be in the ground but part of it should be sticking out of the dirt. You then want to repeat this process at every location where you find an opening.

What has been discovered is that the properties of this gum are such that they are irritating to the mole. Thus, it will not use the entryway where ever the gum appears. This keeps it from returning to the locations where you place the gum and likely will get it to leave your property. It's a crazy solution, there is no doubt about that, but it also works quite well. Try it and you will see. For more information, you may want to click on one of these guides that I wrote:
