California is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Camarillo wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Camarillo animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Ventura County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Ventura County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Camarillo Wildlife Tip:
How to get pigeons out of a wall

If you think that you may have a bird infestation in your wall, you first need to determine whether or not you have space in your wall for a bird. To determine whether or not you have a cavity wall, you simply need to measure your wall; if it is more than 260 mm (10.2 inches) thick, then you most probably have a cavity wall. A cavity wall just means that you have to walls, separated by a space between. This space is usually filled with insulation foam to prohibit air from circulating, in order to keep your home warmer and to cut down on heating costs.

To check whether your house is insulated, you can remove an outlet cover; there should be insulation foam present. This means that there is a space between your walls and for whatever reason; a pigeon may have gained entry.

If there is a pigeon in your wall you should be able to hear it squawking. Did it make a nest in there or has it become trapped? If it has nested, you may have a larger problem on your hands. If a bird has become stuck inside your wall, it is best to call a professional in order to set it free. You can try putting on a thick, plastic glove that will enable you to lower your arm into the cavity and hopefully retrieve the animal. If it has simply ended up there by accident the chances of it returning are miniscule.

If you have birds that have purposefully assembled a nest inside you walls, you might have a larger problem. The first thing that you need to do is to get visual confirmation that it is indeed a pigeon, and then you need to find the entry point. Birds are smallish creatures and will be able to enter through spaces that you previously deemed inaccessible.

What to do?

You can try luring the bird out with food; however, birds do not have a keen sense of smell so if they cannot see the food it will not work. You can also try to lure it by using a torch. The bright light has been known to attract more than moths.

Are you able to reach the bird easily? If you are, then you will need to put on protective gear before attempting to remove it, but you should be able to remove it and close off the entry to the hole.

If you cannot reach the bird from the outside, it may be worth checking whether you can reach it from a different location. If you have drywall and you have the appropriate tools, you can cut the bird out. Your other option is to let nature take its course, this will however, lead to a decaying bird in your wall.
