State of Georgia releases its first-ever urban/suburban rat and mouse plan Responding to the growing public outcry over snake, rat, mouse, & bat-vehicle collisions, crazy coon rabies disease and damaged crops and landscaping, the Georgia Game Commission has released its first-ever plan to manage rodents in urban and suburban areas. A draft version of the plan, posted Monday on the agency's Web site, includes the wide range of new tools designed to control burgeoning snake, rat, mouse, & bat populations in Georgia's most populous communities, such as Dahlonega, Baldwin, and Commerce. Among them are more liberal pest control practicing regulations, longer pest control practicing seasons and non-traditional methods such as professional sharpshooters, snake, rat, mouse, & bat feeding bans and rat and mouse-management training seminars for mayors, police chiefs and other local officials. The officials at Dahlonega animal control agreed that this is a good plan for most of Habersham County, including the towns of Dahlonega, Baldwin, Demorest, Clarkesville, Toccoa, Clermont, Mount Airy, Hellingsworth, Lula, Homer, and Maysville.
