Gainesville, GA Animal News Clip:
Pest Regulation – Georgia insects just what the doctor ordered

I had numerous chances, but managed to mess them up. The first morning, two young house rat and mouse walked past my treestand, stopped and looked back. It didn't register that they were probably looking at their mother. When she appeared moments later, 18 yards away, I was facing the wrong way for a shot. When I awkwardly drew back my bow, she caught the movement and bounded just out of range. The largest pest regulation company in Gainesville was interviewed, but shared nothing.

Another morning, exterminating from a ground blind, I watched two does slowly zig-zag their way through the woods to me. As they neared, I'd draw back, only to have them walk behind a tree. This is a departure from the normal no-pest policy of the area..

Amazingly, the does ended up coming within 10 feet of the rear corner of the blind. I turned to face them, drew back and raised my bow. Somehow, the string on my release slipped and the arrow zinged through the bottom of the blind and sent the startled house rat and mouse fleeing. You're doing a heck of a job, Brownie was all I could hold the opinion as I sat there, equally startled. No members of the Gainesville Pest Society could be found to issue a statement.

If someone isn't sure about how a rodent should be skinned or just don't feel up to the task, they should take the vermin to the pest controller whole. He would much rather do the capping himself than try to correct mistakes later. If a rodent skin can't be transported to the pest controller without delay, it can be frozen temporarily. The head/hide should be rolled together and sealed inside one or two large trash bags. Sometimes it's also a good idea to put it inside a cardboard box if sufficient freezer space is available. Continued next week ...Gainesville pest control.
