Indiana is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Auburn wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Auburn animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local DeKalb County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the DeKalb County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Auburn Wildlife Tip:
What Should I Do With A Rat After I Catch It?

It is advised to relocate the trapped rats far away from locality most of the time but truly speaking this is not the humane way to treat with the rats as once they are relocated, they hardly survive. The rats will die in few days without food, water and this death is very painful for them. So, it is far better to kill them instantly and in humane ways once they are caught or trapped inside the bag.

Here are some of the helpful ways to kill the trapped rats humanely.

Whack the rat:

Ensure to wear a very thick glove before performing this action. Next take a ziplock plastic, open the zip and wear it over the gloves. Now insert your hands in the cage, garb the rat properly and then pull the ziplock plastic bag with other hand such a way that the rats get inside the plastic bag. Close the zip then. The rat with the plastic should be placed on the floor, garage or driveway floor is the best option for that. Now hit the head of the rat with a hammer, a magazine or with similar kind of things, but ensure the rat die instantly.

Gas it:

Another best way to deal with the trapped rats is to gas them and they will die instantly. Chloroform is the best option for rat euthanasia but unfortunately, this gas is too hazardous for both animal and human which is why uses of this gas are quite risky. However other options are always there and you can make use of them to kill the rats humanely.

Halothane is another useful anesthetic gas for rat euthanasia that will make the rodents unconscious without any pain before they die.

CO2 chamber can be used in this purpose which is very convenient and can be arranged easily. What you need to do is keep the trapped rat inside a plastic box, it would be better if it is a Tupperware plastic box to ensure airtight. Next take a bag and then connect the bag and the plastic Tupperware with a plastic tube. Tie the bag with a rubber band to make it air tight.

Vinegar when poured on baking soda produces CO2 and this formula will be used here. The bag should be filled with baking soda before tying it. Next make a place in the bag to pour vinegar and keep on pouring. CO2 will be generated and it will come to the plastic container through the tube. This gas should kill the rats instantly. So, first pour some amount of vinegar and if you notice the rats are becoming unresponsive, pour the rest of the vinegar so that they pass out quickly.
