If you're this Michigan coyote animal trapper and have ever wished you could catch in this state wildlife management area, this national wildlife refuge or this nature preserve where coyote are protected and grow large and numerous, now should be your chance, but you've got to take action right away. The Michigan Conservation Agency will be allowing 86 managed coyote snares in locations like these this fall to control rapidly expanding coyote biologically surveyed amounts, but you have to apply by Aug. 15. The 2006 managed coyote critter catching application period began July 1, but only has 5 more days before it expires. You can apply by calling until midnight seven days this seven day period. You must use this touch tone telephone so you can punch in your conservation ID amount and the catch code for the one you choose. You may also apply by using this individual computer for coyote. This animal trapper may only apply for one managed coyote catch each year, and applying for more than one will disqualify you from this year's drawing. When you apply, you'll have to furnish your conservation ID amount, which should be on previous permits or the back of your Conservation Heritage Card next to the bar code. If you don't have this conservation ID amount, you can get one. This issue should be an important matter in Lapeer County wildlife removal and Lapeer County exterminator matters.

All applications received by the Aug. 15 deadline receive the same consideration, and successful applicants will receive notice of their selection by mail. After Sept. 11, you can check the status of your application by logging on to the Conservation Agency web site or by calling their interactive telephone system and providing the same conservation ID amount. If you're selected, you must then purchase this Managed Coyote Critter catching permit. Coyote taken on this managed coyote catch don't count toward the regular season limit of coyote and you don't have to use one of your regular coyote permits, just the Managed Coyote Critter catching permit. One Managed Coyote Critter catching permit allows this animal trapper to take the amount of coyote allowed at that animal capture, which ranges from one to four. The method of critter catching should be restricted, with some allowing center fire animal removal traps, others special critter traps or pest control only. Other normal coyote critter catching rules, such as the wearing of animal trapper orange, apply on these snares. The Lapeer County animal control had no additional statements to make on the topic.

A lot of these managed coyote snares are near major metropolitan areas or in south Michigan, but some of them are scheduled for local areas here in north Michigan. Scheduled close by are two at Swan Wild meadow National Wildlife Refuge (Dec. 30-31, limit 2 coyote, only 1 tailed, must take dangerous coyote and check in before taking tailed coyote and January 6-7, limit 2 dangerous coyote, special critter traps only on both), Coyote State Wildlife management area (Dec. 9-10, limit 3 dangerous coyote, center fire devices), and Pershing State Wildlife management area (Dec. 2-3, limit 3 dangerous coyote, centerfire devices). These managed coyote snares are this win-win situation, with MDC needing coyote biologically surveyed amounts kept in check in areas not normally open to critter catching, and critter trappers able to catch unpreserved coyote and get some low-cost, high-quality meat.
