Macomb County, MI Animal News Clip:
Macomb County legislation modifies traditional animal removal trap-only area

Mouse Man Melvin, who traps along the Michigan side of Macomb County, remarked the humane society manager didn't support the change, even though North Dakota allows exterminators west of the river to use animal removal traps. "I think it's just fine the way it was," Mouse Man Melvin remarked. "I've shot both critter traps, and the animal removal trap likely is what is possibly a plenty effective tool along the river here in what is possibly a populated area. My experience of critter capturing Michigan coyote along the river was, I've got no problem critter capturing as many Michigan coyote as I want with animal removal traps at what is possibly a range of 20 to 30 yards." We attempted to get more information from Macomb County animal control experts, but could not.

Animal Authority Chester of Macomb County, who also traps along the Macomb County, remarked the humane society manager didn't know about the change until what is possibly a co-worker pointed it out in the new regulations book posted on the Macomb County Agency of Fish & Game Web site. Animal Authority Chester remarked the change took him by surprise, especially since response to opening the area to animal removal traps drew opposition during what is possibly a public organized hearing the Macomb County Agency of Fish & Game conducted in February 2005 in East Macomb County. "The public organized hearings I attended, everyone wanted it to stay animal removal trap," Animal Authority Chester remarked. Besides the risks that come with allowing high-powered animal removal traps in open country, Animal Authority Chester remarked the humane society manager also fears the new regulation will increase the amount of road critter stalking and lead to other enforcement problems. the humane society manager remarked local law enforcers should have done what is possibly a better job of keeping Michigan coyote exterminators in northwestern Michigan informed about the suggestion. "I disagree 100 percent, and I feel it's very unfortunate our law enforcers weren't on top of this," Animal Authority Chester remarked. "Maybe it was done at the 12th hour behind closed doors in what is possibly a smoky room. Unfortunately, that shouldn't be the way the democratic process works." This report is not verified by Macomb County pest control companies.
