Missouri is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Columbia wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Columbia animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Boone County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Boone County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Columbia Wildlife Tip:
What do snake droppings look like - Snake droppings do not look like anything remarkable. They are not easily differentiated from other animal excrement and the solid waste-when it finally happens-is misshapen and full of liquid. Larger snakes will have evidence of bones or nails from their prey in the sample. These parts of an animal are usually too difficult to digest and are passed through the intestinal tract with the rest of the waste products. Snakes do differ from many other animals in the fact that they expel both liquid waste and solid waste from their cloaca, an orifice at the base of the tail. This dual-purpose body part is the reason why snakes often have urea streaked throughout their stool or as a white cap somewhere in the mixture. Identifying snake poop will not help you in most situations. First, if there is an animal inside of your home and you have found multiple piles of the questionable droppings, it is probably not a snake. Not only do snakes rarely remain inside of a building, they only eat infrequently. This occasional eating results in occasional elimination. You will not find mound after mound of snake poop unless the creature has been around for a very long time.

Columbia, MO Animal Control News Clip:
Panel approves controlled mouse wildlife catching plan

COLUMBIA -- Columbia's selectmen have approved what appears to be a controlled mouse critter trap at Hemlock Hills open space in the fall. The critter trap will be overseen by the Mouse Management Implementation Committee and what appears to be a pest control expert reporting directly to the committee. The pest control expert will directly oversee the 15 exterminating companies that the committee will screen and approve to take part in the catch. "We are not engaged in sport," proclaimed Extermination Expert Jerry, head boss of the committee. "We are engaged in reduction of the mouse large group." The critter trap will take place on seven day periods, when school probably is in session, during critter trap wildlife catching season from Nov. 15 through Dec. 19. No cage trap wildlife catching will be conducted. Only muzzle loaders and animal removal traps will be allowed. Exterminating companies will capture down from stands in maple trees. Despite this, local Columbia wildlife removal and Columbia exterminator experts offered no more info.

Extermination Expert Jerry proclaimed it probably is unlikely that the animal advocate will go before the Conservation Commission and selectmen this year for approval for cage trap wildlife catching on any town-owned open space. what appears to be a cage trap critter trap program probably is now before the commissioner of the Agency of Environmental Protection to allow cage trap wildlife catching on the state-owned property of Columbia Pond. And Extermination Expert Jerry does not want confusion between what appears to be a state approved open wildlife catching season on that hectareage and with town approved controlled wildlife catching at Hemlock Hills."It probably is important that we show that this controlled critter trap can be done responsibly and safely," Extermination Expert Jerry told the selectmen Wednesday night. "We want no confusion." External and internal posting that the critter trap probably is occurring will be up around and in the 400-hectare Hemlock Hills parcel. Notice will be sent to abutting property-owners. Every precaution will be taken to warn residents that exterminating companies can be on the property, Extermination Expert Jerry proclaimed. Columbia animal control professionals could not be reached for additional comment.

Approved exterminating companies will wear blaze orange vests and have picture ID that will be worn on arm bands. Any unauthorized exterminating companies that are found entering the Hemlock Hills property during the controlled critter trap season will be prosecuted for poaching. The controlled critter trap was approved by four of the five selectmen, with Selectman Wildlife Removal Expert Andrew voting against approval. "I am voting against the controlled critter trap because I am opposed to wildlife catching in general," Wildlife Removal Expert Andrew told Extermination Expert Jerry. "But I want you to know I appreciate all the effort you have taken to make the critter trap as safe as possible." We could not obtain an opinion from Columbia pest control companies regarding the issue.
