South Carolina is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Oconee County wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Oconee County animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local The County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the The County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Oconee County Wildlife Tip:
How to Keep Groundhogs out of Your Garden

Groundhogs are large rodents that look like squirrels. They are herbivorous but can also eat bugs. They are also good tunnel diggers. What are some of the ways you can use to keep groundhogs out of your garden?

Using Castor Oil

Castor oil has been found to be a very strong repelling agent to groundhogs. Just pour one spoonful of the castor oil into the groundhogs' dens and then seal them. Alternatively, you can also choose to sprinkle the castor oil. Simply mix a generous amount of castor oil with double the amount of water, stir it well and then pour the mixture into a spraying can. You should then spray this mixture around your garden and this will repel the groundhogs away from any point where the mixture was sprayed. This way, they will not munch on anything in your garden if you do the sprinkling all way around your garden. The problem with this method is that you have to keep spraying or pouring the castor oil every time the groundhogs come back and it doesn't last long.

Pepper

Pepper has been used for many years as a repellant to very many animals. The good thing about pepper is that it is cheap and any type of pepper will do the trick. The easiest way to this is to sprinkle some pepper into the burrows and dens of the groundhogs and then cover them with dirt. If you want to keep them away from a big piece of land, then you should consider the sprinkling it with a sprinkler. Just add 5 spoonful's of pepper to two cups of water and mix them, then pour this mixture into a spraying can. Do this for every 3 weeks and you will be able to keep the groundhogs out of your garden for a very long time.

Fencing

Mesh fences are a very important asset when trying to keep rodents and small animals away from your garden or homestead. Just ensure than when using it for fencing, you bury it more than a foot deep so that the groundhogs may not be able to dig beneath it. This is one of the most effective ways of keeping groundhogs out of your garden or lawn.

Traps

If you have endured groundhogs for a long time that the damages they have caused are voluminous, you should consider trapping them. Just seal all their travelling routes but leave one open. This will force all the groundhogs to use the one remaining route and this is where your traps should be set. If there is no way to conceal the traps with shrubs, just lay some fresh bait and hope that the groundhogs will fall into the trap.
