Tennessee is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Soddy Daisy wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Soddy Daisy animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

Soddy Daisy Wildlife Tip:
What are some humane ways to kill a house mouse?

There can be several reasons to want to kill a mouse. You have captured a mouse and it is too sick/injured to be released, but you don't want to have it to die slowly, and in pain. You would like to relocate captured mice, but you do not have a suitable location near you, and you have heard that most mice that are relocated just die within a few days anyway. Or perhaps you have a reptile that you want to feed, but prefer not to give them live prey.

If you need to kill a mouse, you will probably want it to be as humane as possible, which means a death as quick and painless as can be had. A panicked mouse can be hard to control, might get away from you, and is harder to kill. Here are some ways that are considered humane that you might consider.

1) The number one way to humanely kill a mouse is to use a high-quality snap trap or shock trap and follow all directions to set it correctly. When set properly, and that bar snaps or the current runs through him, that mouse won't know what hit it, when the mouse takes the bait the trap should kill it almost instantly.

2) Asphyxiate the mouse by placing it in sealed container or bag, in which you have pumped Co2 made from a combination baking soda and vinegar.

3) Place the mouse in a secure container and freeze it for at least 2 hours.

4) Take the cage containing the mouse and submerge it in water for 10 minutes, making sure it has drowned.

5) Break its neck by grasping the mouse from behind and forcibly pressing the back of its head with your thumbs till it cracks.

6) Secure the mouse in a bag and strike it forcible in the head with a rock or hammer.

7) Shoot the mouse with a "BB" gun or another low caliber projectile.

While most people agree that killing anything can never truly be considered humane, it is sometimes better than the alternative solutions you might have. It is certainly better than suffering a slow and agonizing death, starving to death, or being eaten alive. If you do opt to dispatch a mouse, make sure that you wear gloves and other protective gear as needed, and that you wash thoroughly afterwards. If the mouse caracass is being dicarded, dipose of it in a sealed plastic bag I the out side trash, or bury it several feet deep.
