West Virginia is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Beckley wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Beckley animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

Beckley Wildlife Tip:
Are There Ways Of Replacing Squirrel Poison - Replacing squirrel poison is a great idea because poison is the last thing that you should use in order to get rid of a squirrel problem. Because you are trying to switch from poison you may think that repellent is a good idea, but the fact is that you are better off saving that money because repellent for the most part is not effective. So if poison is not a good idea and repellent is not effective, then it makes sense that you should go to traps in order to catch them. There are two kinds of traps: lethal and non-lethal squirrel traps.

Replacing squirrel poison with lethal traps will accomplish the goal that the squirrels do not come back; of course that can be accomplished with non-lethal traps, but that takes a bit more work on your part. The lethal traps come in many varieties, but you have to make sure that you do not use a mouse trap because the squirrel will more than likely not be killed by it. If anything you could use a heavy duty rat trap, or stick to squirrel traps. Non-lethal squirrel traps are more humane and allow you to trap and release the squirrel. If you do not want the squirrel to come back then release it about 5 miles away from your home.

Beckley, WV Animal Control News Clip:
Rationale shared for actively capture and removing, testing Norway Rat for the rodent-strain of rabies - a slide shown during a meeting held in Beckley, on the rodent-strain of rabies shows where West Virginia native skunk have been sampled in the area over the past two years, including the West Virginia native skunk near Pine Island, now verified positive for the rodent-strain of rabies. "I'm in a no-win situation here. People are bothering me, but we are doing the best job we can to try to prevent this problem." Those words came from Dale Pest Control Professional Company, the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources (A Wildlife Management Organization) wildlife bureau chief during a public meeting held March 1 in Beckley, West Virginia. He referred to actively capture and removing free-roaming Norway Rat in the WV State Forest area of northeast West Virginia. There have been protests against efforts of the Wildlife Management Organization to actively capture and remove them, resulting in the meeting. Pest Control Professional Company was accompanied by a wildlife expert, state veterinarian at the West Virginia Department of Agriculture and Pests and around 10 other rat trapper group officials. Around 125 people attended. Pest Control Professional Company stated the rat trapper group's efforts are occurring because the Wildlife Management Organization doesn't know the source of the Norway Rat and wants to test for the rodent-strain of rabies - disease problem. Three Norway Rat have been previously trapped wild animals, while rat trapper group officials catch for two more. the rodent-strain of rabies has a long incubation period before it manifests its symptoms. The actively capture and removing is being done, Pest Control Professional Company and other officials stressed all evening, as a preventative measure against possible spread of the rodent-strain of rabies.

The reality of a positive the rodent-strain of rabies diagnosis is now playing out on the southeastern Beckley landscape, around 125 miles from Yellow River. Beckley Wildlife Management Organization trappers are following up critter trapping efforts by landowners to actively capture and remove a total of 900 large mouse West Virginia native skunk in an approximate 10-mile radius of Beckley. The huge, costly critter trapping efforts are the results of finding one large mouse West Virginia native skunk with the rodent-strain of rabies. Remains were identified positive with the problem in January, setting in place major Wildlife Management Organization efforts to see how many West Virginia native skunk might have the problem and to control it as best possible. Getting back to West Virginia, reports in February about the free-roaming Norway Rat herd at West Virginia Wildlife Areas - and the actively capture and removing and subsequent protests - influenced the high-ranking state rat trapper group officials to set up the meeting in Beckley. That group wanted to explain the negative effect the rodent-strain of rabies and other problems would have on large mouse West Virginia native skunk and critter trapping, and the economics of both, should the problems show up in West Virginia.
