California is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Dana Point wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Dana Point animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Orange County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. Dana Point Wildlife Tip:
Do Snakes Jump?

Whether or not snakes can jump is an age-old inquiry. There are many pictures of jumping snakes. Of course, if you look at the definition of jumping, it is impossible for snakes to actually jump. If you look closely at the pictures you will see that the tail never leaves the ground. In order to be classified as a jump, the whole body would have to leave the ground - including the tail. What is often called a jump, is actually the act of striking. Snakes can strike when either attacking or in defense mode.

Speaking of striking, it has been said that snakes can strike the whole distance of its body or more. When a snake is about to strike it will bring the front part of its body up, and then strike forward toward its victim. Most snakes can only strike about one-half to three-quarters of its length. This is why most snakebite is located below the knee or on a foot. The larger snakes may lift their head and strike forward. When they do this, they are usually less accurate and the attack will miss the target. This is because the snake is excited and in a defense mode.

There are some species of snakes that chase after humans. These snakes don't depend on their defense tactics such as staying put and striking at people. These snakes will actually go after people as they attempt to get away. These threatening and contentious snakes are found in the country of Panama. Tourists in Panama are cautioned about this hazard when they go out on field trips.

Many snakes are venomous. People are afraid of these snakes for very good reason. However, the risk being bitten by a snake or dying from snakebite is so small compared to disease or vehicle accident that it is almost non-existent. The venomous snakes tend to live in tropical areas. The most common venomous snakes in America are the Copperhead, the Cottonmouth, the Diamondback and the Coral Snake.

Just because a snake is non-venomous, doesn't mean they can't harm you. Non-venomous means they don't make toxins that are harmful to humans. However, many of these snakes create or stock toxins that are harmful to other animals, so from a scientific viewpoint they are venomous.

It is wise to view all snakes with caution, especially if you don't know what kind of a snake it is. Just remember, they can't technically jump.
