Connecticut is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Stratford wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Stratford animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Fairfield County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Fairfield County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Stratford Wildlife Tip:

How to kill Gophers

Using lethal remedies in order to solve the gopher problem in your garden can be unethical, but it can get rid of gophers quite easily and quickly. If your preventive measure or traps have not worked, then perhaps you would be tempted to kill the Gophers. However, the following are a list of ways by which you can kill gophers

1. Use gopher flares

You can use these to smoke the gopher out of its tunnel. These flares are a mixture of oxygen and propane which fill the tunnels and are toxic for the rodents. All you have to do is insert it in the tunnel and wait for the Gophers to die.

2. Car exhaust

You can also smoke them out using your car exhaust. You will have to use a garden hose for this. Put one end of the hose on the exhaust of your car, and the other in the hole where the gopher is. Leave your car on for about 20 minutes. The gas emissions from the exhaust will suffocate, poison and kill the Gophers.

3. Use poison

For this you will have to be careful because this will harm other wildlife as well. Be extra careful if you have pets because the toxic can stay in the soil or on different insects for a number of days, and hence there is a chance of them being eaten by your pet, which in turn will get poisoned. The poison, when ingested by the gopher will cause internal bleeding and hence kill it.

4. Flood the hole

Use your garden hose or any other pipe or source of water to fill the hole with water. Keeps the water running for about thirty minutes? The gopher will try to escape after a while and you can catch and kill it. Note that this will waste water and may waterlog your soil.

5. Leave a sweet, chewy candy in the tunnel.

Leaving any such candy will result in the gopher trying to eat it, and will die the next day. You may want to use gloves for this so that the scent from your hands doesn't ruin the trap.

6. Release a predator.

You may need a skilled cat or dog for this method. Not all cats and dogs are able to catch and kill the Gophers due to the depth of their holes. Alternatively, you may also get an owl which will prey on the gopher when it comes out during the night. However, make sure that you don't have any small pets that can be attacked by the owl.

7. Hire a professional.

This is perhaps the safest and most straightforward option, as the professional can use his expertise to get rid of the gopher without causing much of a hassle or damage to your lawn.
