Florida is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Perry wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Perry animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Taylor County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Taylor County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Perry Wildlife Tip:
WILL A HOUSE MOUSE IN THE ATTIC HAVE A NEST OF BABIES?

The simple answer is yes. Mice live almost exclusively to eat and breed. If you hear scurrying along your walls and ceilings, or if you're starting to find strange droppings on your floor or carpet, chances are you have mice in your house. And by mice we mean of course, more than one. You will never have just one mouse in your house, as it's not in their nature to be loners, they live in groups called families and have defined living areas or nests.

Attics are the perfect place for mice to call home. They are dark, dry, cozy and have many nooks and crannies that allow them to build their nests hidden away from prying eyes. They are most likely to enter your home during the fall and winter months, when the dropping temperatures outside force them to look for a safe place to have their babies, as the breed all year round. If you have pets or small children who leave crumbs all over the house (this is inevitable) them the mice may be lured in to your house, enticed by the easy access to food.

Mice don't like to travel far for their food, with an approximate range of up to 30 feet, especially if their babies are quite newborn. This doesn't mean that if food isn't readily available close to their nest, they won't venture out a little further in search of it. The kitchen and pantry is obviously going to be their number one priority, and they may even be so bold as to build their nests nearby. But if they can't access the pantry or kitchen for a morsel of food, they will chew through absolutely anything and everything. They will chew through wood, wires, insulation, etc.

A female mouse can have up to 10 babies per litter, and up to 14 litter a year. This is a lot of babies, but the breeding doesn't stop there. A mouse reaches sexual maturity as early as six weeks old, and can start having babies of its own by this time. This means that mice reproduce exponentially and a small family of mice can rapidly get out of hand and become a whole infestation of innumerable families of mice. They will mark their territories quite fiercely with urine and droppings, so the smell can become very overwhelming, very quickly.

A mouse infestation is not one of those problems that go away by itself over time, but rather increases and gets out of control rather quickly. The best thing to do is to address the situation as soon and efficiently as possible and take steps towards prevent more mice entering your house in the future.
