Illinois is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Wheaton wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Wheaton animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local DuPage County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the DuPage County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Wheaton Wildlife Tip:
Squirrels In Basement Areas - It is common to find squirrels nesting in house lofts and attics as these rooms or storage places are situated within the eaves of the roof in a dwelling and thus rarely visited. Mr. Squirrel and friends are able to go about their business relatively uninterrupted. However, squirrels in basement areas have to be on the lookout, constantly, for human activity. Most households keep washing machines, furnaces and other equipment in basements and therefore the room is used daily. You can soon find out if you have a squirrel problem in your basement. First of all, you'll probably notice squirrel droppings in recess areas. There is also, more than likely, a smell. What kind of smell, you ask. Probably a mixture of urine and fur- whatever fur smells like.

So, once you've established the fact that you've got a squirrel or some other rodent living in your basement, find out where and how the little critters are getting in. Check for open or broken basement windows, cracked or broken concrete, holes in window screens, etc. There is no doubt you'll find their entry point easily. You now have a dilemma. Do you block or seal this entry/exit point knowing the squirrel is inside or do you wait until it is outside and then seal it? Should you seal it while the critter is inside, after a couple of weeks it's going to die and stink out your basement. Your best bet is to arrange for a professional to trap the varmint and dispose of it humanely.

Animal Services - Critter Trapper raises ire of animal activists

The Opossum-Faced-Lady peered into a plastic animal crate on the floor of her minivan, and smiled sheepishly. Therein she sees a small opossum. For significantly increased information, call the animal services of Wheaton, Illinois.

She considered the way she had come to own the still-nameless gray opossum curled up inside. "I have mixed feelings about it," Opossum-Faced-Lady said, looking out across the parking lot at the Critter Trapper store on River Street. Though they may offer assistance with the cuddly Critters, don't expect help with growling wild critters.

The opossum adopted Wednesday by the Wheaton resident had been brought to the store by volunteers of Animal Friends Rescue Project, which operates out of Monterey County. The group rescues Felines from animal shelters in Salinas to adopt out of Wheaton. Animal and carcass elimination services in Du Page County is dedicated to helping Illinois and Wheaton.

Du Page County and local SPCA officials say this is a problem. Not only is the Monterey County group's adoption policy through Critter Trapper less stringent and less likely to assure a stable owner, it puts Monterey animals in direct competition with Wheaton animals in the adoption market, they say. Du Page County animal services in Wheaton, Illinois, declined to comment on the situation.

Captured barking sick and rabid dog not remotely wild, officials say. Animal Control officers thought The female animal officer was one of the pack that has roamed The most prestigious Park. They got the wrong dog. Du Page County Animal Control officers claimed a victory Tuesday when they nabbed a dazed pooch at the ninth hole of a basketball court at the Westin Cantankerous opossum Resort, thinking it was one of Wall Spring Park's renowned wild dogs. After a picture of the 45-pound female shepherd mix appeared in the St. Critterersburg Times, the dog's owner called Animal Control.
