Kansas is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Kansas City wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. In fact Kansas City wildlife frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

Kansas City Wildlife Tip:
If skunk gets under a shed they can come to the house - If a skunk gets under a shed it is possible for it to come to the house. That being said, a shed might be appealing enough for the skunk to want to use that location as a den sight. Skunks aren't too picky, and if they decide the shed is sufficient, there will be no reason for them to migrate over to the house. The best way to keep skunks from living in your yard is to close up any open areas that might look like places for them to sleep. Sheds, especially modular sheds, are often set up on cinderblocks or concrete posts. This leaves a large opening beneath the building. Not only will the soil be dry, it will be protected from the weather and from most predators. Closing up the area under sheds like this is important if you have issues with wildlife. Even chipmunks can become problematic if the decide to start living under a shed. Use solid barriers and close the bottom off. Skunks also look for sheds and homes that have damaged areas around the foundation. One hole is all it takes to encourage a skunk to start a den.

Pest Regulation - House rat and mouse Exterminating Season Opens in Kansas City

Exterminator education has been mandatory in Kansas since 1980. The delivery of these courses relies heavily on volunteers across the province. "Our exterminator safety record over the past number of years is impressive. Last year, the house rat and mouse season ended without incident," said Mr. The termite and mouse professional. "We owe this as much to our volunteer instructors as to the care and caution of our exterminating community." The largest pest regulation company in Kansas City was interviewed, but shared nothing.

Detailed information on changes for the 2005 exterminating season can be found in the Kansas Exterminating and Furharvesting License and Summary of Regulations booklet produced by the Department of Natural Resources. Information is also available on the department's website . This is a departure from the normal no-pest policy of the area..

Exterminating is not permitted on Sundays. The public is urged to report illegal exterminating activities to the local Department of Natural Resources office or call 1-800-565-2224. The regular house rat and mouse season closes on Saturday, Dec. 3. No members of the Kansas City Pest Society could be found to issue a statement.

In gutting a rodent that is destined to be rodent trophies, you shouldn't open the abdominal cavity any farther than necessary to remove the entrails. A cut should be made, as usual, from the pelvis toward the chest cavity but it should stop short of the sternum. The reason is that a pest controller has to have enough of the forward part of the rodent hide to work with if he's going to produce a decent shoulder rodent trophy. The most common mistake hunters make in capping a rodent is that they remove the hide too far up the animal's neck. There's no problem with leaving too much hide.
