Louisiana is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional LaPlace wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some LaPlace animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the St. John the Baptist Parish animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. LaPlace Wildlife Tip:
Where do opossums live? Do more opossums live in urban areas, or wild areas?

Opossums have been native in the Eastern part of the US; they were introduced to the Western part of the region where they can get their food sources. They wish to stay in the woods, but they can easily adapt and they can easily survive where there is food, water source and dry land to keep them safe and warm. Their hubs can be found in various places that include the hollow part of the tree, abandoned burrows, piles of rocks, tree branches and leaves, they may also be seen in the attic or under the shed in the suburbs. They would love to eat even unpleasant foods such as dead animals, they also feed on ripe fruits, vegetation, grasses and leaves, so you must expect them to ruin your fruit and veggie garden while looking for food.

A lot of people may think that possums only live in the trees, but they will also adopt the high life to the point that they can recycle the nest of the squirrels or birds, they just prefer to inhabit the dens underground, so they can be seen all the time under the porch. When you compare them to armadillo, possums will not dig deep through the burrows, but they want to occupy the readymade ones, even if they were used by the armadillos in the past. Into the porch, they will make a bedding from the leaves and grasses which they will build in a firm manner using the loop of their tail.

They also tend to live like humans. Possums have just 1 characteristic that makes them more of a human being than an animal. Their hind feet are close to a small human hand and they are equipped with it and it has the capacity to climb and in holding materials that they use to write some verses. Possums just want to stay in a dry and dark place, that makes them look for a haven and they easily land in the attic or underneath the porch to keep them safe all the time. The den is also their burrows and they dug by the other mammals, hollow stumps, trees, woodpiles, logs and in other parts of the buildings.

Their fur will not give them much insulation that they need, so they look for a place where they can stay at day time and during the mating and breeding period. They will look for insulated materials that they carry through their coiled tail. They need to hide to prevent the predators from catching them, possums will move to various locations daily, while the male possums will follow the radio tracking, since they have lots of dens that they can stay in. Typically, they have nineteen dens in just 5 months. The female possums with the young will make a hole and use the same den for a long period of time with the babies.
