State College Wildlife Tip:
Attic Letting Squirrels In? The Flying Squirrels Can Be A Problem - Flying squirrels are very similar to regular squirrels in habits and lifestyle - but they are nocturnal rather than diurnal, which means that the signs you see and hear indicating a flying squirrel infestation will all occur at night. Flying squirrels live in colonies of up to 20 animals - and if you have one then you will most likely have them all. In order to begin the eviction process of your flying squirrels you may have to spend some time observing their comings and goings throughout the night -take note of which entry and exits they use, in particular note which one is the busiest - this will be the location of your trap.

It should be noted that trapping flying squirrels is the only sure fire way of guaranteeing that you will be able to achieve total removal of them from your home. Prior to setting the traps you should seal all the entry and exit ways you have observed them using - apart from the one you noted as being the busiest. Once you are 100% sure that you have removed all the squirrels - which may take a few weeks - you must then completely seal your home to ensure they cannot get back in. Which they will try to do!
