South Carolina is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Chester wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Chester animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

Chester Wildlife Tip:
Do More Squirrels Live In Urban Areas, Or Wild Areas?

Squirrels are excellent climbers and earlier their habitat used to be in the forest areas. But now with the rapid urbanisation, more and more squirrels are moving into urban area. The primary reason for this is because squirrels are great at adapting. They can adapt to any kind of environment possible as long as their basic needs get fulfilled. But in the early 1800's the case was quite the opposite. There was no squirrel present in the urban areas but you could see a lot of them in countryside. They were so many in number that even a bounty was placed over their heads.

You wouldn't believe that in Tennessee, government actually encouraged all the adult males to pay some of their taxes in the form of squirrel scalps. So now you would think that if they were so many in number outside the cities, what made them come into urban areas? The reason is that we were the ones who put them there in the first place. The prevalence of squirrels was because of the two emerging ideas in the early 19th century. The first one was that the squirrels were a natural accent to places such as gardens, parks and other open spaces.

The second reason was that the squirrels could actually teach the young brats about love and compassion. So the idea was that as pets taught kindness to the home owners, same way squirrels would do in open public areas. So each time a squirrel came near a child, the kid had to make a choice. Either toss the squirrel something to eat or bash its brain and throw it off.

So this was the reason of squirrels coming into urban areas as they were appreciated there. This way more and more squirrels started coming into town and the most favourite of them all were gray squirrels. They enjoyed the reputation as creatures of foresight and diligence.

Now there are many types of squirrels that reside in urban areas. Tree squirrels and Ground squirrels. Tree squirrels prefer to live in the wooded areas and ground squirrels, well, the name suggests it all. They can dig up burrows, like underground tunnels. They also use these burrows to hibernate during the winter to keep them warm.

Another type of squirrel namely flying squirrels reside in tree holes or nests. The holes are mainly built into the crooks. They travel from tree to tree in search for food and they are capable of gliding up to 160 feet. This could actually make you think that they can fly. So this sums up the fact that more squirrel live in urban areas than wild areas.
