You have the ones who have been doing it their entire life and now they are looking for a trophy buck- something to put on their wall. But for the most part they do harvest them for food. And they eat em." Most local owners of pest control companies in El Paso, Texas weren’t sure what to make of all this. Wildlife officers say if exterminators are caught with out a license they will get a fine. The sportsman licenses can be bought at hardware stores for $40. They're good for a year of exterminating and fishing. The first day of Texas's rat and mouse control brought perfect weather, but perhaps fewer rat and mouse than years past. El Paso pest control is mostly insect extermination, but only a few Texas companies deal with wild animals. About 60,000 exterminators were given rifle permits for the rat and mouse control this year, said Mark The insect and rodent professional Division of Wildlife Resources. Permits sold out faster this year than any in history. "As far as the number of rat and mouse coming through the check stations, we didn't feel like we were seeing a ton of rat and mouse, but we don't know if that is because exterminators are taking fewer rat and mouse or if the nice weather is keeping them up in their camps a little longer," The insect and rodent professional said. The El Paso County Pest Control board of El Paso exterminators could not be reached for comment.
