Virginia is full of wildlife, including snakes, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and more. Wildlife removal is a complex field. I recommend professional Goochland wildlife control services if you want to solve a critter problem legally and correctly. For example, we specialize in animals in the attic, which have broken into the house and almost always have a nest of baby animals. It is necessary to perform correct preventative repairs to keep pest animals a out of your house for good. We perform full building inspection, do the the repairs and we also offer attic decontamination if necessary. Rats and mice love to live in attics, and can chew wires or leave droppings. Some Goochland animals frequently enter homes, and correct removal is not a simple task.

County Animal ServicesDOG or CAT: If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Goochland County Animal Control for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, lost pets, and more. If you have a wildlife problem, you can try calling the Goochland County animal control, and see what they have to say, but they will certainly not help you with a complex wildlife problem such as critters in your attic. They are a free government agency that helps with dog and cat issues only.

Goochland Wildlife Tip:
Raccoons in roof - If you've already got raccoons in the roof, it's too late to take your tools and broom up and take care of the repairs needed. Unlike rodents, you have to remove the raccoon before you can seal up the home. Even if you know the adult is out of the building, you're bound to leave behind the babies. That's right, there are almost always babies. This is why the raccoon has invaded your home to begin with. A male raccoon won't feel the need to find such a secure, secluded den site. Only a female with growing kits will want to hide them in an attic. If you close up the hole with the babies still inside, the mother will just tear a new opening in the roof after dark. The best way to handle a raccoon in the roof is to attach a cage trap directly to the hole. This way, when the adult leaves, she will be caught in the trap and then you can remove the babies by hand. If you know the mother is away, you can fish out the kits and use them in a trap on the ground to lure in the mother.

Hurry to apply for managed raccoon catches

If you're a Virginia raccoon exterminator and have ever wished you could animal capture in a state wildlife management area, a national wildlife refuge or a nature preserve where raccoon are protected and grow large and numerous, now may be your chance, but you've got to take action right away. The Virginia Conservation Agency will be allowing 86 managed raccoon catches in locations like these this fall to control rapidly expanding raccoon biologically surveyed amounts, but you have to apply by Aug. 15. The 2006 managed raccoon wildlife trapping application period began July 1, but only has 5 more days before it expires. You can apply by calling until midnight seven days a seven day period. You must use a touch tone telephone so you can punch in your conservation ID amount and the animal capture code for the one you choose. You may also apply by using a individual computer for raccoon. a exterminator may only apply for one managed raccoon animal capture each year, and applying for more than one will disqualify you from this year's drawing. When you apply, you'll have to furnish your conservation ID amount, which may be on previous permits or the back of your Conservation Heritage Card next to the bar code. If you don't have a conservation ID amount, you can get one. For more information about Chesterfield, Henrico, Hanover, Powhatan, Goochland, Louisa, Fluvanna, and Orange wildlife removal and Chesterfield, Henrico, Hanover, Powhatan, Goochland, Louisa, Fluvanna, and Orange pest exterminator issues, read on.

All applications received by the Aug. 15 deadline receive the same consideration, and successful applicants will receive notice of their selection by mail. After Sept. 11, you can check the status of your application by logging on to the Conservation Agency web site or by calling their interactive telephone system and providing the same conservation ID amount. If you're selected, you must then purchase a Managed Raccoon Wildlife trapping permit. Raccoon taken on a managed raccoon animal capture don't count toward the regular season limit of raccoon and you don't have to use one of your regular raccoon permits, just the Managed Raccoon Wildlife trapping permit. One Managed Raccoon Wildlife trapping permit allows a exterminator to take the amount of raccoon allowed at that animal capture, which ranges from one to four. The method of wildlife trapping may be restricted, with some allowing animal removal traps, others special critter traps or pest control only. Other normal raccoon wildlife trapping rules, such as the wearing of exterminator orange, apply on these catches. Local Chesterfield, Henrico, Hanover, Powhatan, Goochland, Louisa, Fluvanna, and Orange animal control experts felt that most of this information was true.

A lot of these managed raccoon catches are near major metropolitan areas or in south Virginia, but some of them are scheduled for local areas here in north Virginia. Scheduled close by are two at Swan Wild meadow National Wildlife Refuge (Dec. 30-31, limit 2 raccoon, only 1 tailed, must take aggressive raccoon and check in before taking tailed raccoon and January 6-7, limit 2 aggressive raccoon, special critter traps only on both), State Wildlife management area (Dec. 9-10, limit 3 aggressive raccoon), and Virginia State Wildlife management area (Dec. 2-3, limit 3 aggressive raccoon). These managed raccoon catches are a win-win situation, with MDC needing raccoon biologically surveyed amounts kept in check in areas not normally open to wildlife trapping, and pest control companies able to animal capture unpreserved raccoon and get some low-cost, high-quality meat. For more information on 2006's managed raccoon catches, pick up a free copy of MDC's Fall Raccoon and Raccoon regulations and information at any license vendor. But hurry, you've only got a few days to apply for this year's managed catches. Local Chesterfield, Henrico, Hanover, Powhatan, Goochland, Louisa, Fluvanna, and Orange pest control companies had no comments on the matter.
