This is the government animal control services operating in Cook County and sponsored by the city of Chicago. This agency typically deals with domestic animal issues involving dogs and cats. This includes things like dangerous dogs, stray cats, pet adoptions, etc. However, this agency will sometimes lend assistance with wildlife concerns. Call (708) 974-6140 and ask if they will assist with your wildlife problem. To increase the chance of success, do not lie, but if applicable, state that the problem is a public health matter in Chicago, or that you feel the public safety is at risk, perhaps due to the spread of rabies or other diseases.
This is NOT a government agency. It is privately run, and operates on volunteer donations. This is a wildlife rehabber facility that deals strictly with wild animals. They may be able to help you with your wildlife problem, depending on the type of problem. The level of help might depend on their resources at the time. They will almost surely help in any case of an injured wild animal, or an orphaned baby animal, such as a baby squirrel or bird that fell out of a tree, or a baby opossum, etc. Please treat Chicago Wildlife Rehabilitation kindly and donate if you are able to.
This is the statewide government wildlife agency in Illinois, using your tax dollars to address wildlife issues. Sometimes called the Illinois Fish & Wildlife Agency. Illinois game wardens address many wildlife management matters, from hunting licenses, to poaching, endangered species, and yes, wildlife management. They deal with wild animals outside the range of a pest control company, such as cougars or bears. But they also have resources that may apply to your wildlife problem. To increase the chance of success, state that the problem is a public health matter in Illinois perhaps due to the spread of rabies or other diseases.
Yes, the Chicago police department will sometimes help with wildlife problems! I've seen many cases of the cops chasing down an errant bat in your house or snake in your pool! To increase the chance of success, never lie to the police dispatcher, but if applicable, state that you feel your personal safety is at risk, or the problem is a public safety matter in Chicago, or a public health issue perhaps due to the spread of rabies or other diseases. Success may come down to whether or not a police officer wants to show up to this call, or is available. It's not always consistent.

Chicago Wildlife Tip:
How to remove snake from house - If you have a single snake in the house, remember that the animal probably doesn't want to be inside, either. Snakes can wander into a home through damaged areas of the building or through open doors and windows. Sometimes snakes enter because they are following the smell of rodents. Aside from repairing your building, you need to find out what species of snake you are dealing with. Venomous snakes in the home are not uncommon when it comes to this situation. While most states have more nonvenomous snakes than venomous, dangerous vipers are often on the move more, and are more likely to investigate a home looking for food. If the snake is venomous, close it into a room and plug the gap between the door and the floor. You do not want the snake leaving that room. Call a professional immediately. Not only can vipers be deadly, they can strike at surprising distances. Nonvenomous snakes can be handled, but care should be taken to avoid harassing them unduly. Even a harmless snake can bite, and bites often contain anticoagulants which cause profuse bleeding and prevent wound closure. If you are going to handle a nonvenomous snake, wear gloves or use a snake hook. Place the animal into a pillowcase and relocate it off the property.
