All trapped cats go to the local SPCA or county animal services.

In my job as a wildlife control operator, I usually deal with the same 8 types of animals: raccoons, squirrels, rats, opossums, armadillos, snakes, bats, and birds. However, from time to time I get a chance to handle an uncommon species. I really relish these jobs. The above photos are all of animals that I don't usually handle. If you want to learn more, please read my How To Get Rid of Stray Cats page.

What to do once you trap a cat - I generally do not entertain callers who call me up to deal with a stray cat issue, except for a select few of my clients that include a hotel and a car showroom. I came up with this rule when I saw the controversy surrounding stray cat removal. In my opinion, stray felines pose as much threat as rodents like rats and opossum. They live in garbage dumpsters, can create a mess with their droppings, are an equally big health hazard, can even attack people and are not even vaccinated in case they end up biting you.

For this reason, I have always advised people not to feed stray cats that roam around their house. See cats are the biggest freeloaders of all time. Once they know they can get free food from somewhere, they can stick their claws to the place forever and keep reproducing every three months to follow. Imagine a whole batch of kittens every quarter of the year. However, if you ever bring up the topic of putting stray cats down (similar to how stray dogs and rodents are killed), people get really touchy about it. Since I love animals, I have a soft corner for all of them and so, I do not understand why it is okay for a cat to kill other small animals but it is not okay to kill a stray cat.

This is why I try to stay away from stray cat removal services. The times when people do call me to get rid of stray cats, I always tell them to get in touch with the Orange County Animal Services (phone number: 407-836-3111). Even with the clients I do provide these services for, I call up the county services at the end of the job as they know best what to do with stray cats.

AAAnimal Control is a privately owned wildlife removal and pest control business, located in Orlando Florida. I deal strictly with wild animals including ones that have died inside houses. I am not an extermination company, but a critter removal and control specialist. The above photos are some of the many that I've taken in the field over my years of work. Please email me if you have any questions about the above photographs, or any questions about wildlife problems or Florida wildlife removal issues.
