With all the best intentions in the world, many homeowners actually fail at DIY attempts to remove wild animals from the attic. For some, it's the time taken that gets to them the most. This isn't a process that will happen overnight, despite the problem popping up in that way. Wild animal removal is a process that takes time, dedication, and a lot of hard work. You’ll need to know where to look, what to seal, what materials to use, and what to do with the animals in question. Unless you have a couple of hours to spare on the internet researching it all, it's a job that we would always recommend leaving to the professionals.

Wild animal removal isn’t actually that expensive, and when you use a licensed removal expert who is fully insured, every part of the problem is taken out of your hands. Not only will you NOT need to spend your time scampering around on the roof, looking for a hole that could be as small as a half-inch in diameter to seal. You WON’T need to handle any animals, dead or alive. You WON’T be putting yourself, or your family, in any danger as far as the disease risks are concerned. You WON’T need to spend hours in the DIY store, looking for the right kind of trap to capture an animal that you're not even sure is really there. You WON'T need to spend hours baiting traps, setting traps, moving them around, trying new baits, releasing captured animals, or potentially even destroying them.

We did tell you … wild animal removal is one hell of a task, and it is made much more difficult when you don't have the right tools for the job.

Wildlife removal experts use snare traps and live cage traps, one-way exclusion devices, snap traps, and more. Each case is worked out on an individual basis, with the best course of action taken for that property, that animal, and that homeowner. Holes are sealed with the appropriate materials, strong enough to keep those wild animals, and their teeth, at bay. Damage is repaired. Modifications are made to ensure the animal can't come back, and other wild animals too, for that matter.

Getting wild animals out of the attic is an arduous task, and one that we do not recommend that you undertake alone. It is dangerous, you could fall from the attic, and that's before you look into the disease risks associated with all of these wild animals. Not just some of them, all of them. They all carry diseases, but the diseases just change slightly between the different species.

If you have a wild animal in your attic, don’t try to save a few dollars and solve the problem yourself. Chances are, you won't be able to and end up calling in the experts anyway.
